Once upon a seat sale, everyone in the metro collectively decided that Japan would be the new “it” destination in Asia. Of course, the trip would have to be booked when it’s cold—the perfect excuse to bring out the fur coats and vests that we so desperately want to sport (but can’t) in this ridiculous tropical heat.
Here, we check in on some of the celebs we spotted playing with layers in the Land of the Rising Sun.
1. Fur is ALWAYS appropriate.
Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo bundled up in fur with BFF Arisse de Santos as they greeted the new year in Osaka.
2. Go for comfy knits to keep you cozy.
Take it from sisters Liz and Laureen Uy who both sported Tommy Hilfiger knits to keep them toasty while strolling around the streets of cold Osaka.
3. A double breasted trench will go with ANYTHING you pair it with.
Make like Holly Golightly and wear it at the airport. It’ll make you look sharp for when you pass through immigration. Right, Maine?
4. The higher the neckline the better.
Ready an arsenal of turtlenecks (both thin and thick) that you can easily layer over jackets, coats, and other sweaters.
5. Be the woman who wears the pants.
Trousers instantly give your casual look a more dressed-up feel as opposed to blue jeans.
