Try making these adjustments to your wardrobe.

Height is something most men worry about. Unfortunately, it's also one of the few things you can't really change. That said, you can at least try to cheat your way to look taller through some styling tricks. Forget the height insoles and try making these adjustments to your wardrobe instead. Here are some style tips that will make you look and feel taller.

1. High-rise trousers are your best friend.

Let's start with the trousers. Low-rise and baggy might be the trend, but high-rise and slim fit ones are your best bet to cheat your height. You could either go the gentleman's route with a signature pair of Ambrosi Napoli trousers (Pitti Uomo style) or go the other, more casual way with street style-approved dad jeans.

2. Don't forget to hem your trousers.

We can't stress enough how important your trousers are. You've got the style and fit, but don't forget to hem them with little to no break to avoid everything bunching below. Cropped trousers are also a good option if you're not as conservative when it comes to dressing.

3. Avoid wearing long shirts.

Long shirts or T-shirts will always make you look like you're drowning in fabric. Plus, it covers so much of your trousers—making the trouser cheats from numbers 1 and 2 practically useless. Ideally, you should tuck everything in to make yourself look slimmer and your legs longer. But if tucking a shirt makes you uncomfortable, then make sure it doesn't pass your hipbone.

4. Streamline your accessories.

Do you really need a belt? Aside from its obvious function, all a belt really does is break an outfit up. And when you're trying to look taller that may just be your downfall. The same goes for statement shoes and flashy watches. Just keep it simple and leave everything else at home.

5. A good tailor is key.

Chances are, clothing store sizes aren't exactly flattering on you. It's the little things that matter: Sleeves that are a little too long, pants that bunch up at the bottom, and more. It might cost more, but a good tailor is the true key to looking taller and more polished.

6. Make some adjustments when having a suit made.

Aside from hemming pants, there are more adjustments you can make to make a suit look especially good on you. Tell your tailor to give you a higher lapel peak or notch and to place the button at a higher stance. Both tips will give the illusion of a longer torso and even longer legs.

7. Be mindful of patterns.

Keep everything vertical: pinstripes, rectangular graphics, and what-have-yous. This way, the print stretches you. On the other hand, you should avoid too bold prints that have the tendency to overwhelm you.

8. Color, of course, helps a lot too.

Dress on the safe side with monochromatic outfits. Another trick is to wear lighter colors for your tops and keep your bottoms at a darker shade. Not only does this create appropriate sections, it also draws people's eyes to your face.
