According to research, an estimated eight million tons of plastic enter our oceans each year, effectively and continuously suffocating our already depleting marine life. With this baffling number, every effort to keep this unwanted trash from our natural bodies of water counts, no matter how big or small—take Adidas, for example!
This year, the global sneaker brand made a huge statement by releasing their Adidas x Parley collection, where every single piece is crafted from 75% ocean trash, including a woven upper made from recycled polyster. With an upscale movement such as this, Adidas hopes to replace all their virgin polyester-made products to recycled polyster by 2024, a truly admiring feat that will hopefully urge similar global names to follow suit.
