It’s certainly a tragic week for the entertainment industry. After Robin Williams’ reported passing yesterday, Hollywood has yet again lost another icon whose legacy we will always remember. Lauren Bacall, at 89, died this Tuesday, July 12, 2014, after suffering a stroke. The estate of her first husband and four-time leading man, Humphrey Bogart, confirmed the unfortunate news on Twitter.
With her smoky voice and sultry looks, the silver screen siren had 72 film credits to her name including The Big Sleep and How To Marry A Millionaire. She also wrote two memoirs, including “Lauren Bacall: By Myself” which bagged a National Book Award in 1980.
Deeply saddened by this loss, our prayers go out to her and her family.
