Being a celebrity stylist may have a glamorous ring to it, but in reality, there’s more to the actual job than just mixing and matching clothes. To set the record straight, those clothes don’t just grow on trees! It takes a lot of legwork to source, pull out from various stores and designers, and then return everything in the same condition they were borrowed. And oh, don’t even get us started on all the work involved during the shoot itself—there’s endless steaming, lots of pinning and clamping to camouflage every little imperfection, plus a high level of resourcefulness required like you won’t believe.
In the first of Preview’s Fashion Insiders series, we talk to the stylists behind your favorite celebrities' double tap-worthy OOTDs to tell us more about how they started, how to make it in the industry, and what the job really entails. Watch the video below and hear it straight from Myrrh Lao To, Ica Villanueva, Joanna Garcia, Miguel Cruz of StyleList, Inc., and Melville Sy and Maita Baello of Qurator.
