Change may have come at this year’s State of the Nation Address, but we all know that no dress code is ever too grand or too simple for Heart Evangelista. Even when she’s dressed down, we can always count on her to step up her style game—and as expected, the 31-year-old wife of Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero didn’t disappoint.
Starting the day with Senate Opening, Heart sported a little white dress with a Filipiniana twist by Ivarluski Aseron in adherence to the dress code. Made daintier with a lace overlay, the frock hugged her svelte figure in all the right ways with a display of understated elegance.
With the help of her stylist Kat Cruz-Villanueva, Heart kept it simple with minimal accessories and with her mid-length hair worn down. She also added a more interesting touch: a fringed beaded clutch, which the actress personally designed and painted on.
Of course, it didn't hurt that her makeup was on fleek, too.
On Instagram, celebrity makeup artist Albert Kurniawan talked about the look they were gunning for:
"This year, we are going for a dynamic, modern Filipina look—glowing healthy skin, and warm hues with a sharp line to open up her chinita eyes more. And of course, the Kylie gloss for fuller lips!"
Later on, the chinita beauty graced the SONA red carpet after changing into her second look.
Wearing an off-the-rack Massimo Dutti pantsuit, Heart stayed true to her love for all things white and knocked the “business attire” dress code out of the park. Keeping it sleek and chic, she finished off her tailored look with a mid-parted low ponytail, a pair of nude Louboutins, and her Hermès Kelly Cut Clutch.
Dress code or no dress code, Heart Evangelista kills it on the SONA red carpet year after year!
