For the West, August is a month of salt air and seaside breeze. For the Philippines, however, it marks the transition toward the -ber months, when the air turns colder and the nights grow longer. This also means our summer wardrobe is set to be shoved into the depths of our cabinets, with swimsuits bound to collect dust until the tropical heat is back in full force. To that, Heart Evangelista says, "No, thank you!"

The global fashion icon knows a thing or two about making the most out of her pieces. Summer or not, clothes are meant to be worn, and swimwear is no exception to this. Styled by Iza Sim, Heart recently posted an OOTD vibrant enough to brighten up any day.

Her asymmetrical swimsuit from Italian luxury fashion brand Missoni featured a one-shoulder strap, and its entire bodice is adorned with a playful zigzag pattern. The multicolored one-piece functions just like a bodysuit on a regular day. It successfully flatters the figure while delivering comfort through its stretchable fabric and breathable material.

Juxtaposing the tastefully loud print was a sleek pair of white trousers from Saint Laurent. Made of satin and designed with a wide-leg cut, it offered ease and grace to the look’s fresh and airy motif. Heart maintained the overall summer charm with deliciously eye-catching arm candy, too.

Her handbag, also from Saint Laurent, was tinted a vivid shade of green. Elegantly crafted with crocodile-embossed calfskin leather, the compact tote championed unmistakable Italian artisanship, which also shines through the distinguishable accordion sides, snap tabs, and brass padlock.

Adding dimension and character to the remarkable bag was an adorably fuzzy Fendi charm, uniquely shaped into a watermelon slice. And of course, a Heart Evangelista outfit wouldn’t be complete without an enviable stack of jewelry. With a sartorial eye, she layered necklaces and bracelets from Van Cleef & Arpels, and she opted for an oversized pair of gradient sunnies to elevate and cap off her solstitial look.
