It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with whites. But to give you a backstory, I think it started because of my parents. My dad, for one, is also a fashionista. I remember he’d always wear this crisp white linen shirt. He’s into white suits, panama hats, and practically anything in white and linen. Even my mom is quite the same—she likes loose white tops paired with big pearl earrings. So growing up seeing all that, I guess that’s why I became naturally attracted to white.

Of course, it’s also nice to go colored or printed every once in a while, but whites will always be a classic. They’re very basic and practical, and you can have them for a long time in your closet. With the right styling, nobody will notice even if you repeat wearing the same pair of white pants again and again, which means you won’t have to keep buying. The secret is to play around with your wardrobe and have fun mixing and matching!
That said, I prepared for you some essentials to start off with:
1. A pair of nice-fitting white pants
Have at least two pairs—maybe something flared and then another in pencil cut. I suggest you have one made by a designer because it’s always good to own a pair that’s tailored. I know it can be a little intimidating to make an inquiry, but you’d be surprised that a lot of Filipino designers can actually create a perfect-fitting pair with a very reasonable price. After all, you’ll be able to wear it more than once. It’s something that you’ll forever have in your closet.
2. A crisp white button-down
It’s a staple, and you can easily find a good one in Zara. Ideally, you should have at least one that’s fitted and another one that’s a bit loose and more relaxed.
3. A cute white skirt
Choose a nice skirt that you can pair with just about anything—a casual tee, a basic tank top, etc. It’s a good addition to your wardrobe and will instantly bring a sophisticated, feminine twist to your look.
4. A pop of color
An all-white outfit is timeless, but sometimes it’s also nice to have that pop of color. You can step it up and add an edgy feel to your look with statement accessories or shoes. Personally, I like wearing all-white ensembles with my painted bags.
5. A really good pair of nude pumps
Trust me on this. It will not only make you look taller; it will also be the perfect finishing touch to your looks. It matches everything! So when you’re feeling a bit tired or if you can’t decide on what shoes to complete your look with, a good pair of nude pumps will always do the trick.
Remember, pulling off an all-white outfit is all about having the right attitude, too. Just be confident and this should be a walk in the park. Have fun!
