When it comes to fashion trends, Heart Evangelista is never behind. In fact, she's a trendsetter herself, what with her ingeniously fun ways of dressing up. To wit, she has taken her pambahay OOTDs to the next level by donning stylish—yet totally comfortable—designer clothes. She's making a sartorial case for the "new normal" in fashionable dressing.
Recently, Heart's been posting outfits featuring wearable protective gear and matching DIY face masks, proving that dressing up for safety can also be stylish at the same time. Now that we’re nearing the end of the modified enhanced quarantine, perhaps we can all take cues from her and prepare our outfits accordingly.
Here are three ways she suggests you could do so:
1. All white
Think bunny suits are the only kind of protective clothing you could wear? Here, Heart suggests that as long as your arms and legs are covered, you should be good to go. (Just remember to observe the proper measures after returning home!) You can also use your face mask to add a pop of color to your outfit, like Heart’s chartreuse one.
2. Printed protective dress with matching mask
If you’re not a fan of trousers, Heart suggests that full-length skirts are a good (and stylish) alternative. Here, she dons a blue floral-printed dress designed by her cousin Madelaine Ongpauco Barlao. To add an extra touch to her look, she opted for a flashy Chanel chain belt and the fashion house's iconic cap-toed Slingbacks. If your style lies on the more feminine and classic side of the spectrum, this vibe is for you!
3. Streetwear-inspired pieces
Streetwear has come a long way from being associated with American skate culture—it’s now a modern-day staple, and it seems like Heart understands this well. In fact, it might just be the perfect time to slip into streetwear as most pieces are practical and comfortable.
Here, Heart sports a Mark Bumgarner creation from his new collection “The Armor Project,” which we can’t wait to see more of! Of course, she added her personal touch with designer pieces: her Dior Teddy D Oblique bucket hat and mini Hermès Kelly crossbody bag.
Well, which among Heart’s "new normal" looks is your fave?
