Designer items have an undeniably hefty cost—be it for an It bag, a statement shoe, or a key runway piece. But despite their often-six-figure price tag, they're usually worth the investment. In 2018, Telegraph UK reported that a white gold and diamond-encrusted Hermès Himalayan Birkin sold for roughly P10,860,883 at Christie's, proving that the resale value for such luxury goods is lucrative. But if you have yet to earn enough cash for that coveted designer piece, Heart Evangelista has a clever tip that will help you save a few zeros.

If you think Heart isn't frugal about buying her Chanels or Louboutins, you're quite mistaken. In our new series called Designer Favorites, the stylish multi-hypehnate reveals that she prefers shopping at vintage stores and sales for designer items rather then getting them at full price. "I always look for a vintage shop when I travel. There are a lot of, like, Chanel jackets that you don't see in the store, and sometimes someone's trash is someone [else's] treasure," she shares, "When you go to New York or you go to Japan—there's so much! And you actually get them for more than half of the [original] price!" Talk about scoring a steal!
