Heart Evangelista celebrated her birthday last night, surrounded by her loved ones in an intimate dinner co-hosted by her cousin, Happy Ongpauco-Tiu. As you probably already know, Heart loves all things white (remember her iconic hashtag #LoveMarieXWhites?), so apart from the all-white setup, she also came to the event clad in a white, feather-trimmed Patty Ang frock, which she accessorized with her very own limited edition Heart bag in collaboration with Sequoia Paris.
"I just wanted everything white and fresh," she tells Preview. "Happy is my go-to person when I host events like this because she knows exactly what I want." She also reveals that she had to work with a certain budget since her birthday and wedding anniversary both fall on Valentine's day and flowers are usually expensive. According to Heart, though, "[Happy] was able to mix the flowers pretty well and budget it properly to cater Italian food to exactly 32 guests."
Throwing an intimate dinner party is definitely Heart's thing, and she notes that she is grateful that her loved ones came to celebrate her day with her, especially since it's also Valentine's day. She welcomed her 34th year with a mix of non-showbiz and showbiz friends, including those who work with her behind the camera—everyone she considers as her "forever friends."
Heart shares that, at this point in her life, she already feels like a true winner and could not ask for more except for "good health and happiness" for her family and friends.
Of course, when it came to birthday gifts, Heart divulges that the best ones were all the "Panda stuff" she received, especially the one given by her hubby, Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero. "Chiz is also a dog lover and so he got himself, me, and Panda, Panda necklaces that he had made. And part of his gift is that he's going to wear this necklace every day! It's the sweetest! A dear friend—her name is Hazel—also gave me a painting of Panda that she's been working on," she shares.
Her most valued present? Heart claims it's "all the bonus, amazing moments that life has been throwing at [her] lately." She adds that these milestones were "just unexpected and feels overwhelming." She also looks forward to a more fruitful year ahead and hopes for "extreme happiness" for everyone.
