Step one of your Marie Kondo journey!

Okay, so you reinvented yourself in the last few years—good for you. That said, you probably started by Marie Kondo-ing your wardrobe and completely turned it upside down in the process. You're not alone.

Raise your hands if you've got your old garments still stashed away in mountains of boxes at home, though you have no intention of ever wearing them again. You could always donate, swap with friends, or sell them online via secondhand sites (which a lot of people have been doing), but you know what you could also do with it? Garment collecting. Where, you ask? Enter the Swedish clothing brand and fashion house H&M.

The brand has brought back its garment collecting initiative, one that was rolled out globally in 2013, that allows you to trade your unwanted clothes with discounts. It's a win-win situation, isn't it? Best part is you can haul them over to their recently revamped space at SM Makati—getting discounts for new clothes at the same time.

H&M will accept textiles from any brand, in any condition. Your old garments will be "reworn, reused, or recycled," so the sign says. And yes, you can get up to 15% slashed off your next purchase at any H&M store nationwide when you drop your clothes at the store's garment collecting booth. The revamped space at SM Makati highights this initiative with a small booth where you could read up on their sustainability efforts. Here's a quick peek: H&M's garment collecting program aims to "prevent unwanted clothes and textiles from going to landfill."

Plus, the special booth isn't the only thing to check out at H&M in SM Makati. They reopened their doors on August 26, unveiling a snazzy new space. And just in case you haven't stopped by, let us walk you through the revamped store.

You'd be more than willing to bring your kids along on your next shopping trip thanks not just to the bigger and broader kids' section, but also to the coloring and drawing lounge. Imagine not having to call them out for running around anymore; just have them sit back, relax (relatively), and doodle while you shop. Just keep an eye out for them, of course!

Since we're talking about reinvention, you might also be thinking about sprucing up your home or space, too. A visit in the first-ever standalone H&M Home concept store in Southeast Asia will definitely give you the push to do so. This new space is where contemporary decor and home accessories are on full display.

So apart from those new spaces, you'll spot the brand's wide range of elevated yet everyday silhouettes—from classic, tailored sets, casual, basic, and lounge wear, to their newly rebranded sportswear. Plus, to keep things fresh, you'll also spot an abundance of greenery in every space.

Oh, and if you're a fan of Don't Blame the Kids, the well-known local streetwear brand, you will also catch their absolute fire capsule collection, the six limited and exclusive designs in the flesh, inside the store. The first Filipino-designed collaboration with H&M has officially dropped on September 8, so get planning.
