To celebrate the launch of the H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection 2017, an elevated assortment created using sustainable materials and fabrics, H&M held an intimate preview followed by an insightful discussion on sustainability last April 18, at the H&M Showroom in Makati.

Upon entering the room, guests were greeted by an art installation featuring the star piece of the H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection, an ethereal plisseÌ pleated gown featuring BIONIC®, a polyester made from recycled shoreline plastic. Taking lead from the marine waste issue this new technology addresses, H&M led an insightful conversation with a panel of like-minded individuals after the collection preview. It tackled the topic on how do we, as organizations and individuals, adapt to eco-system changes, considering today’s level of energy consumption and marine waste production? Leading the conversation were experts from H&M’s global and local partners, which included World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF-Philippines), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Communities Organized for Resource Allocation (CORA), Inc. Local celebrities and eco-advocates Antoinette Taus and Iza Calzado, both of whom were dressed in the collection, joined the panel as well.

The H&M Conscious Exclusive is a high fashion collection made from sustainable materials that aims to move H&M’s fashion and sustainability innovation forward towards a sustainable fashion future. The collection launches in select stores globally and exclusively in H&M SM Makati in the Philippines on April 20. Following this initiative H&M Philippines, in partnership with CORA Inc. will initiate a series of Coastal Clean-Ups in Boracay, Caticlan from April 21 to 23, 2017.
