We’re excited for her big day!

As the next It girl set to be wed, all eyes are on Martine Cajucom. “Everything’s done,” the Sunnies Studios co-founder told us over lunch. She’s the epitome of the chill bride. But you would expect this creative director to have it all sorted and in style.

The lunch, as it would happen, was to welcome Spanish bridal designer Rosa Clara to Manila, and Martine was there as her muse. She will be flying to Spain to attend the brand’s show at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. “Rosa Clara is always the opening show,” says Valerie Zayco, managing partner of Rosa Clara Philippines. “Bridal week is amazing in Barcelona because it’s like the melting pot of the whole bridal sector. It’s almost as important as New York Fashion Week, but in the bridal industry.” She revealed that Rosa Clara herself will be helping Martine pick out a dress from her Spring-Summer 2019 collection.

“This job is an easy task,” says Rosa about working with Martine who can certainly give justice to any of her creations. Valerie adds, “For us, she’s the epitome of the modern Filipina bride. Filipina brides come to us every day, and they have their own personalities. They’re very successful in their endeavors. They know what they like, and they appreciate quality. And that’s always the ideal bride. So Martine is the perfect fit for Rosa Clara.”

Asked what kind of design she’s leaning towards, Martine reveals that she’s quite open to what Rosa might recommend, admitting she doesn’t actually have a dream look. “When [Rosa] saw me, she actually said ‘I know what’s going to be a good fit for you,’” she shares. “She and her husband actually looked at my Instagram and I was so shy [when they told me].” As the setting for the wedding will be minimalist and white with a breathtaking view—“it’s by an infinity pool overlooking a cliff,” she divulged—the bride-to-be is naturally looking for something special to wear on her big day. “She’s very collaborative,” says Martine of the Spanish designer. “[The looks I saw], were a lot more bohemian, and we talked about our love for bling. I want something really original and unique, that reflects her aesthetic and is complimentary to me.”
