Grace Coddington has gone back to her modeling roots as she lends her face to the new Calvin Klein Fall 2016 campaign. Lensed by fashion photographer Tyrone Lebon, the Vogue creative director-at-large appears in two campaign materials, wearing black outfits in both.
Asked how it feels to be on the other side of the camera several years later, Grace tells Vogue, “It is funny to be on the other side of the camera, particularly of such a young photographer. I’ve been photographed by quite a lot of photographers, but mostly all the old ones, not so many of the young ones. Tyrone is the most enchanting person. You do feel a difference between now and the ’60s when I used to model. It’s exciting.”
In this video, which the brand released along with many other videos of cast interviews and behind-the-scenes, Grace delivers quite a statement on her definition of sexy: "Ultimately, it's more sexy to be covered up than to be uncovered—if you'll forgive me. (laughs) Uncovered is for later, you know. I mean not later in age, later in the day."
Much like its Spring campaign (Remember that Justin Bieber photo, which was allegedly Photoshopped?), Calvin Klein's latest ads feature a major cast. Grace is joined by Kate Moss, Frank Ocean, Margot Robbie, Bella Hadid, Zoe Kravitz, Anna Ewers, Presley Walker Gerber, and more in the roster.
