Givenchy is branching out towards a new demographic. With the slated launch of their childrenswear line, the French luxury fashion house aims to produce mini-me versions of their popular pieces.

Business of Fashion and WWD report that Givenchy will be introducing a 130-piece streetwear collection that ranges from 80 to 300 euros or about P4000 to P16,000. From the line, 60 pieces are for girls, 40 for boys, 10 for newborns. Aside from bomber jackets, denim pieces, and a selected array of couture pieces, the collection will also be including toys for tots like black teddy bears.
Givenchy's childrenswear line is the brainchild of its former creative director Ricardo Tisci, who had exclusively designed clothes for North West and Blue Ivy. The line is a direct response to the requests of the house's celebrity clientele. In an interview with Business of Fashion, CEO Philippe Fortunato shares, "It's an organic extension. It's not about putting the logo on a commercial product, it's really an extrapolation of a certain look, turning it into a very candid and romantic way of dressing the next generation of customers."

Riccardo has installed an in-house design studio dedicated in producing the design for kid-sized Givenchy items and is licensed to distribute under French firm Children Worldwide Fashion.
The collection will be available in retail stores starting July 2017, ahead of the arrival of Clare Waight Keller, Givenchy's new creative director.
