It's been less than two months after indie collective I Love You x Future blew into the scene, but in-house designers Mike Lavarez and Geof Gonzales already have all-new collections for the artsy fashionistas. In a show entitled Geof+Mike 2009, guests were treated to the signature avant-garde style of the I Love You team.

Geof's 15-piece collection revolved around the deconstruction and reinvention of what we know as the blouse, resulting in contemporary cover-ups, dresses, jackets, and suits. It's interesting to note that the printed georgette fabrics used for each piece were actually factory rejects, as each so-called flaw added more interest to Geof's designs.

While Geof explored these interesting prints, Mike's mostly black pieces found inspiration in the ambiguity of Eigengrau, the color we see in perfect darkness. He came out with a glittered sheer jersey collection of edgy dresses and gowns, as well as a basic wrap and jacket. The dark palette was tempered with textured accents and chains, giving each piece a fashion-forward flair.

With these promising designs for 2009, the future is definitely full of love for Geof and Mike. See these provocative pieces for yourself as you click on.
