Moving beyond its pilot store at SM Aura Premier, Frankie & Friends General Store has recently launched its new pop-up store at Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, which will run until March 31, 2020. This marks another milestone for the well-loved retail hub as it will be partnering with new brand owners.

“We aspire to continue encouraging others to make more conscious purchases through Frankie & Friends. It is with the support from the community that small local businesses continue to expand, and homegrown creators are able to thrive,” says co-owner Jammy San Juan

Some of the brands that we can’t stop thinking about: Pinas Sadya, Risque Designs, Wear Your Culture, Travelfund by Siriusdan, and Narra Watches. It's definitely hard to pick a fave—from embroidered kimonos, minimalist linen pieces, organic skincare products, artisanal homeware, to ultra-chic woven recycled accessories! Don’t even get us started on the Makai Bowls kiosk inside the store. (Yep, your favorite La Union smoothie bowls are in town for the whole month of March!)

For the past two years, Frankie & Friends has been home to a fabulous roster of different homegrown brands. With the goal of being a space where the community is cultivated and celebrated, it has succeeded in bringing craft, passion, and potential altogether. Now, having worked closely with over 200 startup brands, it has definitely come a long way from its humble beginning in October 2018.

“Our goal is to generate a deeper sense of community by forming a bridge from the creator to the customer through our physical stores such as our pop-pp space in Power Plant Mall, our flagship store in SM Aura Premier, and our soon-to-open branch in The Podium,” says brand manager Zaila Macadangdang.

More than being the springboard for talented local creators, Frankie & Friends is all about using creativity to make a difference. And of course, sustainability is part of the equation as well. Each curated product is created in small batches, as part of the owners’ initiative of making a difference in their respective communities. But beyond its unique aesthetic and ingenuity, the store also raises the bar for an ethical retail culture that’s proudly Filipino.
