Frames That Flatter Frame selection may seem tricky but here, we've made it easier for you.

Q: “My doctor recently advised me to wear eyeglasses to correct my vision. Suffice it to say, I'm not too thrilled about the new intellectual look I'll be sporting. I'm also a tad confused by the enormous selection in shops. I'm looking for something that will keep me in fighting, and fashionable, form. Any suggestions?”

A: Have you ever wondered why some frames spoil your look rather than enhance it? Picture Ugly Betty. The trick is you choose your eyeglasses frame according to your face shape. Knowing your face shape will help you determine which eyeglasses flatter your features.

To determine the face of your shape is simple. Face a mirror then trace your face shape on the mirror using lipstick. The shape that closely resembles the pattern of your face is the shape of your face.

Ideally, the frame of the eye glasses should subtly balance the shape of your face. Keep these two things in mind: first, the frame shape should contrast your face shape; and second, the frame size should be in scale with your face size. It is important that you feel comfortable AND confident wearing your eyeglasses. Just as much as you use them to correct vision, eyeglasses can make or break your look.
