For Girls And Boys

Girls want your outfit and guys think you look great. Who are you dressing for?
For Girls And Boys Girls want your outfit and guys think you look great. Who are you dressing for?

Valentine's Day has come and gone, but all that romance lingering in the air has got us seeing fashion in a new light. Trends like black lace, bodycon dresses, and killer heels suddenly seem like they were made for a hot date–men have been known to drool at the sight of some skin and a few curves. But then again, we doubt that guys can appreciate the utter chicness of, say, a great pair of harem pants the way our girl friends can.

So we wonder, what goes through the fashionista's mind when she dresses up? (Personally, we think of men like Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, and Christophe Decarnin when we dress up, but that's just us.) When a girl reaches for her on-trend bustier dress, does she consider the Boyfriend and the rest of the adoring male population? Or does she just grab her best fashion weapons and battle it out with her stylish set of girl friends for a night out on the town? Ultimately, it could come down to which compliments a woman can appreciate better-approval from the guys or envy from the girls?

We asked a few of our favorite style sisters for their thoughts on the matter and got several interesting insights. Judging by their fashion philosophies, these ladies understand what it means to be truly stylish-you don't dress for anyone but yourself. Click on to get inside the minds of this week's set of fashionistas.
