Growing up between Manila and Melbourne, then going on to graduate from an MA in Contemporary Fashion Design at IFA Paris certainly hasn't stopped Karen Topacio from ultimately taking inspiration in her roots.
For her Spring/Summer 2017 show, the Filipina designer has drawn from a recent return to the balmy tropics of her homeland, reconnecting not only with the natural world, but with the hustle and bustle of Manila. The collection draws direct influence from nature’s colors and patterns, translated through a mix of supple fabrics and graphic shapes that give the looks an organic aesthetic. Mother Nature is represented through bold laser cut leather details holding pops of bright color together.
Karen will be presenting her Spring/Summer 2017 collection for Asian Fashion Meets Tokyo at Tokyo Fashion Week, on October 22, 2016 at the Shibuya Hikarie Hall, Tokyo. We can't wait!
