It has been three months since local artist Feanne cried foul against UK fashion brand Rixo for copying her licensed handmade prints. The illustrator and fabric designer claimed last April that her "Star, Moon, Cloud, Sky Drawings" published in 2014 were plagiarized and used by Rixo without her consent. Rixo used elements of her original illustrations on their exclusive Net-a-Porter collection.

After months of legal battle, Feanne shared the good news to her followers: "I am pleased to announce that Rixo and I have resolved our dispute," she writes on an Instagram post. "As of May 14 my claim was filed in the UK Intellectual Property Court, and as of July 12, with the help of our lawyers, we were able to successfully reach a settlement that makes us both happy," she adds.

In her post, she thanked everyone, including her lawyers, who supported and helped her in this ordeal. She also mentioned and credited Rixo, who chose "to address this matter appropriately and constructively." Likewise, Rixo posted an announcement regarding this matter on their website. The brand acknowledged her creative designs and regretted their dispute, admitting "that some of Feanne’s designs were incorporated in RIXO’s Moonlit Sky and Oriental prints without her consent."

Moving forward, Feanne and Rixo also announced that after resolving the matter, they have decided to "enter into a collaborative project that looks to celebrate creativity and empowering design."

Feanne also used her experience to send a very important message to all other artists who are undergoing the same issues. She says, "I wish you success in attaining the outcome you desire. Your feelings are valid, and it is your right to choose your ideal outcome as well as how to handle your situation. Only you can determine the best option for you. I highly recommend at least inquiring with a legal professional for reliable help in assessing your options."
