One of our very own fashion talents has graced the Met Gala 2019's unforgettable pink carpet, and it's none other than young designer Carl Jan Cruz! Fashionista.com's associate editor Whitney Bauck chose one of CJ's unique, draped red-and-white plaid frocks to make her debut appearance in at the annual occasion.
Whitney, who has proudly lived several years of her life in the PH, wrote on her Instagram: "My first Met Gala red carpet gave me like 73 new gray hairs because of technical difficulties, but for now we’re gonna focus on the fact that it also gave me an excuse to both rep the motherland by wearing Filipino designer @carljancruz and an excuse to be an #outfitrepeater (because there’s nothing more sustainable than wearing what you already have)." One point for the Philippines and another for outfit repeating!
CJ also took to the 'gram to gush about Whitney's look and thank her for her patronage. And, to answer the question floating around in your head, how exactly is the dress perfect for the event's now-iconic Camp: Notes On Fashion theme? "It feels so fitting that this Isagani dress came through [at] the 'Camp' themed Met Gala as this is [the brand's] take on Colegio San Agustin Makati's uniform," the designer wrote.
