1. Kering and Stella McCartney have split.
Kering, a French luxury conglomerate, is selling its 50% share back to Stella McCartney after a 17-year partnership. “It is the right moment to acquire the full control of the company bearing my name,” Stella said in a statement. Reuters reports, "Kering will continue to lend some support and services to the brand for a year, and the split will be final by the end of the first quarter of 2019."
2. H&M has a $4.3 billion pile of unsold clothes.
Swedish retail giant H&M reports of its unsold inventory that costs about $4.3 billion. The New York Times reports, "Signs of its expanding unsold inventory began emerging last year, when it reported an unexpected quarterly drop in sales. The decline was the first in two decades, a period in which H&M expanded from a lone women’s wear store west of Stockholm to a gargantuan network of 4,700 stores around the world."
3. Erdem collaborates with LVMH's e-commerce site 24 Sèvres.
Following its partnership with H&M, Erdem launches "nine exclusive ready-to-wear pieces and accessories inspired by British ballerina Margot Fonteyn to be launched with 24Sevres.com, the global luxury web site owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Read more here.
4. Selena Gomez designs her first Puma sneaker.
Puma ambassador Selena Gomez reveals her the first sneaker she designed for the brand. Called the Phenom Lux, the pair comes in an all-white hue with gold accents and a removable ankle bracelet. Additionally, Vogue shares, "Puma has pledged that $100,000 from sales of the collaboration will go toward the non-profit, which aims to find a cure for the auto-immune disease that Gomez has publicly opened up about battling."
5. Britney Spears is the new face of Kenzo.
Britney Spears finally lands her first major fashion campaign with Kenzo! According to Harpers Bazaar, "The singer took to Instagram to reveal her new campaign for the brand's La Collection Memento N°2, photographed by Peter Lindbergh. In the first image shared, Britney gives us some early 2000s vibes in a denim trucker hat and cropped green sweatshirt that shows off her lower back tattoo."
6. Naomi Campbell bags the 2018 CFDA Fashion Icon Award.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell cements her place in the world of fashion as the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced that she will be the 2018 recipient of their Fashion Icon Award, which she will receive on June 4 at the awards ceremony.
