1. LVMH's Bernard Arnault is now the richest man in fashion.

Bernard Arnault bumps off Zara's Amancio Ortega as the richest man in fashion. Bernard, the CEO of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) conglomerate, is also the fourth wealthiest man in the world and the richest man in Europe. He is estimated to have a value of $70.7 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. His success follows the business boost from his recently acquired brand, Christian Dior. He also owns Louis Vuitton, Céline, and Givenchy.

2. Call for Vogue Africa gets louder.

Diversity in fashion is a prayer that many are clamoring for. Vogue partially heeds the call as they recently launched a Vogue for the Czech Republic and overlooking the brimming potential Africa contains. Business of Fashion explains, "For skeptics who still see Africa in a dim light and therefore believe that a prestigious magazine like Vogue doesn’t belong here, they are missing the fast-paced renaissance and energy that is flowing into almost every corner of the continent."

3. Maison Margiela goes fur free.

John Galliano's desicion to go fur-free in the house of Maison Margiela is essentially sparked by one "fateful swim with Penélope Cruz." W Magazine reports. Vogue also notes, "Galliano’s recent switch to vegetarianism—and his beloved dog, Gipsy—also played a part in his decision to go fur-free. “[The real luxury today] is authenticity and inventiveness,” he said."

4. Polyvore is no more.

Ssense, a luxury e-commerce company, recently acquired online site Polyvore, a fashion platform where users can create and share moodboards. Upon taking over Polyvore, Ssense immediately shut down the site with little forewarning, which in turn sparked outrage among its users.

5. Is Anna Wintour leaving Vogue?

Page Six recently publsihed an article entitled, Is Anna Wintour out at Vogue? which reported a rumor that Anna will "exit her all-powerful role at the publishing house this summer after the July wedding of her daughter, Bee Schaffer, to Francesco Carrozzini, the son of former Italian Vogue Editor Franca Sozzani." But a Condé Nast representative quickly shut down the rumor, saying "There’s zero truth to the story."
