Roberto Cavalli is in troubled waters; the Italian brand is closing its US stores as it prepares to liquidate its North American operations. 5. This is the largest cut diamond ever certified by the GIA.

A new record-breaking diamond cut has been certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Called the Graff Lesedi La Rona, the 302.37 carat diamond, which was carved from its 1,109 carat rough form "is the largest highest colour, highest clarity diamond ever certified by the GIA, and the world’s largest square emerald cut diamond," Graff says in a statement. "This rare marvel required over 18 months of meticulous craftsmanship, and marks an historic moment in diamond history."
