1. Japanese women are protesting against having to wear heels to work.
Women in Japan are rallying against a "de facto requirement" on footwear, which basically states that female government employees should wear heels to work. Actor and freelance writer Yumi Ishikawa launched the #KuToo movement (in partnership with Times Up Now Movement) online and was quickly backed by many supporters. #KuToo is a play on the Japanese words kutsu meaning shoes and kutsuu which means pain.

2. You can now have coffee break at this Fred Perry Cafe.
Just in time for Father's Day, Fred Perry is bringing back their cafe pop-ups from June 14 to 16. Fred Perry Philippines is collaborating with coffee crafters like The Curator and EDSA Beverage Design Group to set up shop in its flagship stores in Metro Manila, while 32 Umber takes over in Cebu.
Further, Fred Perry is adding ARC Lava Rock Vodka to their lineup this year. ARC Lava Rock Vodka is a drink that boasts of a clean, crisp, and fresh taste with an underlying wheat base. It is naturally filtered with lava rocks from Taal and Mayon volcanoes. Intrigued? Fred Perry reveals they will be gifting bottled cocktails made with ARC Lava Rock Vodka, diluted and filtered through coffee, for every single-receipt purchase worth P5000 on Father's Day, June 16. Fred Perry's pop-up cafes will be located at their Powerplant Mall, Greenbelt 5, SM Megamall, TriNoma, and Ayala Center Cebu stores.
3. Amazon launches "shazam" for clothes.
Amazon is beefing up their customer's online shopping experience with their latest venture. Dipping their toes in the world of fashion, Amazon has just recently rolled out an AI-powered search engine for fashion items called StyleSnap. "StyleSnap is basically Shazam for clothes, built into the Amazon mobile app. Users can take a picture or upload an image and StyleSnap will use machine learning to “match the look in the photo” and find similar items for sale on Amazon.com," The Verge reports.

4. Penshoppe's new collection features the coolest denim pieces to shop now.
For Penshoppe's DenimLab collection this 2019, expect "a sporty yet polished and relaxed yet 'under construction' juxtaposition" as its aesthetic. The pieces will have "an intentional unfinished look with raw-cut edges and frayed hems in tailored boxy silhouettes." Feeling edgy yet? In addition to this, this denim collection also features "eye-catching industrial wares like reflective tapes, adjustable and exposed zippers, technical straps and snaps, and heavy duty box pockets" that give off a sporty-utilitarian vibe.
5. A memorial for Karl Lagerfeld is set to happen this June in Paris.
A tribute for the late Karl Lagerfeld is slated to take place this June at the Men's Fashion Week in Paris, France. Titled, Karl For Ever, "the event has been organized by Chanel, Fendi, and the designer’s eponymous brand to commemorate the life and work of the 85-year-old fashion icon," The Independent reports.
