Farewell Brian Style Bible remembers Brian Leyva in his passing.

It is with great sadness that we report that Brian Leyva passed away on March 31. The young designer was walking home from the gym on the night of March 29 when he was held-up at gunpoint and shot in the head. He was rushed to a hospital in Antipolo where he remained until finally succumbing on March 31. He will be laid to rest on April 6.

Brian Leyva first hit Preview's radar when he garnered a runner-up spot in the Philippine Fashion Design Competition in 2004. He went on to become an active member of the Young Designers Guild, showcasing a collection during Philippine Fashion Week in 2007 and again designing pieces for the Bench Fashion Week show in 2009.

Apart from creating dresses for Manila's stylish set and young celebrities, Brian also designed the first collection of Frangipani, a modern-Filipiniana retail line that is the birthchild of Noel Manapat and Malou Romero.

The fashion industry mourns the demise of such a promising young talent whose career was certainly on an upswing. Style Bible remembers the designer, sharing a few favorite moments in Brian's career.
