But while viewers were captivated by the performance, fashion fans quickly found themselves zooming in on another detail: her footwear.

The artist, who also revealed on Instagram that she participated in both the writing and recording of the official World Cup anthem, took the stage in a custom blue gown by Korean label LEJE. Instead of pairing the dramatic look with heels, however, she opted for chunky silver sneakers—a decision that quickly earned praise online.

In an era where comfort and practicality increasingly shape red carpet and performance dressing, many viewers applauded EJAE for choosing a pair of kicks over stilettos for one of the biggest performances of her career.

The shoes in question are the Adidas Originals Ozvenuz, a futuristic platform sneaker that blends metallic silver overlays, mesh paneling, and an exaggerated sculptural sole.

The silhouette taps into fashion's continued fascination with Y2K-inspired runners and chunky performance footwear, making it a natural fit for today's sneaker landscape.

Following the opening ceremony, social media users began searching for the model after spotting it peeking out from beneath EJAE's gown. Sneaker accounts later identified the shoe as the Ozvenuz, with many noting that it is currently available through Adidas Korea and Japan but has yet to arrive in the Philippines.

Of course, the sneakers were only one part of the look.

For the historic performance, EJAE wore a custom LEJE creation styled by Hyeon Seeok and Jeffrey Jin. The striking cobalt blue dress reinterpreted traditional Korean design codes through a contemporary lens, creating a modern look that paid tribute to her heritage.

Paired with chunky sneakers instead of heels, the ensemble became one of the event's most talked-about fashion moments—proving that style and comfort no longer have to compete.
