After a one week break in the Philippines, Alex Eala is back on the court in Washington, DC. The Philiippines' pride was recently spotted training with her partner, 14-time Grand Slam doubles champion, Venus Williams, for the Mubadala DC Open.

The tournament’s official account recently gave fans a sneak peek at the “all-star” pair in action on their social media accounts. Their captions reads, “Inspiring multiple generations.”

A Nike ambassador, Alex is always sporting the brand in every competition, and this one is no different. If the training session is any indication, it seems she’s once again relying on her favorite Nike Vapor 3s to keep her moving.
She’s known to wear the model in most of her matches, often changing up the color way, from Lemon Twist to Summit White and even Lab Green. For DC, she chose the Nike Vapor 3 in Pink Smoke, paired with an all-purple, cropped polo shirt and shorts ensemble.

This marks Alex and Venus’s second team up following their grass attempt at Bad Homburg in Germany. After winning one round, they eventually bowed out in the quarterfinals, losing to Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalíková in a score of 6-3, 6-2.
In an interview during her Philippine homecoming, Alex gushed over the tennis legend whom she confirmed to be absolutely down to earth. “It was an incredible experience for me. Venus has such a special work ethic and such a special mindset,” she said. “So I just took that week to absorb everything I could absorb and learn from her.”

Prior to this, Alex also posted about her first team up with Venus on her Instagram page, always making sure to express her appreciation for her idol. She wrote. “Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I’d have the privilege of competing alongside you on court @venuswilliams! Immensely grateful to learn from you.”
The Mubadala DC Open will run from July 25 to August 2. Both Alex and Venus are also registered in the competition’s singles draw.

Jam’s way of exploration is by reading and writing. She hopes to always be lost in words and, occasionally, a good podcast.
