Everything's Illuminated

Glow with fluorescent accents this fall.
Everything's Illuminated Glow with fluorescent accents this fall.

It seems like there's no stopping the '80s. Riding hard on the '80s comeback wave, a certain trend shines brighter- and I do mean BRIGHTER- than all the others.

Fluorescent colors are lighting up the runways this fall, with neon colors bringing their own brand of decided luminosity to major designers. John Paul Gaultier started out with brightly colored gloves and tights and then went all out with his in-your-face outfits in solid highlighter colors. Roberto Cavalli made use of bright floral appliqués and colored hems contrasted on stark black. Matthew Williamson added a neon zing to the standard psychedelic prints at Emilio Pucci.

These loud colors scream "look at me!" and they're just what you need to brighten up any outfit this fall. Dress with caution however, lest you look like a walking highlighter. Small doses are the way to go. A fluoro splash is all you'll really need to add some pizzazz to any fall ensemble.
