Did you get a good laugh out of that video up there? We did too. But what’s not funny? Running into rude (rue!) girls like Bon Qui Qui each time we hit up our favorite store in real life. More often than not, it's usually the customers who can be mean to the salesgirls. If you don't want to be like them and branded a mean old ugly shopper, try to avoid these 5 things the next time you go shopping. The worker bees of the retail industry will love you for it.
#1: SNUBBING THE SALES ASSOCIATES
Doesn’t it feel awkward to say “hi” to someone only to get totally snubbed? Even if you don’t need anything from them, don’t just dodge them when they start asking you if you need help. Politely decline by saying “No, thank you.”
#2: UNFOLDING THEIR FOLDS
Don’t mess up what they’ve spent hours trying to fix. If you want to see something in your size, ask for help or simply look for your size and neatly take it out. Hand it over to someone if you want to see the next bigger or smaller size. Don’t go crazy unfurling things like Jay Gatsby here.
#3: RETURNING ITEMS WHERE THEY DON'T BELONG
Leave it at the counter before you exit the dressing rooms or hand it over to one of the sales associates. Don’t create a mess randomly leaving things on the racks. (Also, don't "hide" stuff so you can come back for them.)
#4: MAKING VAGUE REQUESTS
Yes, it is their job to help you out but that doesn’t mean you should give them a hard time. Tell them what you need and want and they’ll go find it for you. We’ve seen people act like total know-it-alls when looking for a specific item, but do be reminded that they work there and they (should) know what’s in store better than you do.
#5: THROWING CASH AT THEM
We've seen this happen at Zara. Instead, be courteous and say the magic word. Even Victoria Beckham says it.
