While local retail clothing brands usually team up with one Filipino designer for capsule collections, Folded and Hung is taking it up a notch by teaming up with two designers for their Summer 2012 collection. F&H picked exciting fashion design talents Eric delos Santos and Jerome Lorico for their respective strengths and specialties—Eric's ultra-feminine womenswear and Jerome's tailored, structured menswear.
The ladies can look forward to print- and color-packed summer wear from F&H. The beach coverups, flowy dresses, tops, and bottoms all carry Eric's signature peppy, feminine style. "The idea is to make the woman feel confident, empowered, as well as sexy whenever she wears my clothes," says Eric. "She can spend the day strolling at the beach while getting her tan or shopping at the mall, but remain the eye-catcher that she is."
The men, meanwhile, will be treated to a slew of short- and long-sleeved button-downs with leather accents, versatile shorts and trousers, as well as cheery tanks with prints of parrots and watermelons. Says Jerome, "Summer is the season I enjoy the most because people are allowed to play with colors, allowing men to experiment and explore on fashion." He adds, "This is quite challenging especially for most boys who try to stick to the tried and tested, so hopefully this becomes an avenue for them to be more comfortable with different things."
