Call it showman chic! Lines and abstract art defined Edgar Buyan's Spring/Summer 2019 collection at the recently concluded Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival. The runway saw an abundance of red, white, and blue stripes printed on an eclectic mix of blouses, buttondowns, ruffled frocks, and shoulder padded blazers that would have definitely fit Hugh Jackman on The Greatest Showman.
"My collection is all about lines, thus the major employment of stripes and linear fabrics in different textiles," Edgar tells Preview. "My inspiration actually started with a fascination for structures, and how we can mix abstract art with linear symmetry. I love my long dresses that are very elongating, with very conservative patterns derivative from old English."
