As the Spring 2027 menswear season draws to a close, one collection clearly stood out—Dries Van Noten. For his sixth collection since taking the reins as creative director, Julian Klausner once again proved his prowess with color.
Believing that one's relationship with color is instinctive, Julian shared in an interview how he learned through Dries himself. "Working with Dries is like a masterclass in combining colors and challenges—it really doesn't work until it perfectly works. So I think it's always an experimentation. There is no right or wrong."

A variety of colors, a diverse selection of prints, and a wide range of textures from different fabrics—while these may not sound like a cohesive collection on paper, watching the 61 looks walk down the runway felt like a sensible amalgamation of Dries Van Noten's house codes.
Staying true to the season's atmosphere, there was a lightness and ease to the entire presentation. As anticipated, color was beautifully executed as evidenced by the balanced monochromatic looks, color-blocking, and progression from light to dark.
Adding sensuality to the collection was the styling by Robbie Spencer, who juxtaposed prints and textures both in and with the clothes. The prints referenced nature—more elemental, some botanical, and less animal—while the textures were delicate and grounded thanks to the choice and manipulation of fabrics.
Talking about the intention behind the collection, Julian said, “Like a dream that vanishes upon waking up, I hope everything feels loose, delicate, easy to remove, ready to fly away. A tribute to the simple beauty of a rest in nature.”
