Stop everything—Gucci has introduced a new collection for the Chinese New Year and it's a treat for manga fans! The Italian luxury fashion house released a super adorable lineup featuring Doraemon for its Epilogue Collection, and you'll want everything.
Doraemon is a fictional character in the Japanese manga and anime series created by Fujiko Fujio. "Born on September 3rd, 2112, a cat-type robot was sent from the 22nd century to help a young boy called Nobita with secret gadgets from his four-dimensional pouch. A playful character, Doraemon hates mice and loves Dorayaki, a sweet pancake," Gucci says of the collab on their website, likening the collection to "Traveling Through Time." The manga character, which is considered to be a Japanese cultural icon, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2020.
Following the successful collaboration of Gucci with Disney featuring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, the fashion house revealed a 50-piece collection of the Doraemon x Gucci collection ranging from coats and track suits to accessories, including an iPhone case!
The collection features the brand’s classic GG monogram, as well as the character from the manga series in various poses. Check out some of the limited-edition items included in the collection below:
