Donny Pangilinan is entering a new chapter in his career. Following his latest film, Tayo Sa Wakas, with longtime love team partner Belle Mariano, the 28-year-old is stepping into his “solo act,” an era where he’s taking things at a slower pace as he navigates his career independently from here on out.
For the August 2026 cover—his first Preview cover to date—the team wanted to capture this unguarded side of Donny. Preview associate creative director Jana Jodloman describes the concept as “what masculinity looks like when the performance drops.”

Set in a suite at The Henry Hotel, a heritage property in the heart of Pasay, the editorial finds Donny completely at ease: lounging, unwinding, and settling into the space. As one of his generation’s prime leading men, the actor is photographed by Renzo Navarro, whose cinematic portraits resemble stills from a melancholic film.

The fashion direction naturally followed suit. Rather than leaning into the sharp tailoring and predictable combinations often associated with menswear, the styling takes a more relaxed approach, playing with familiar pieces in slightly unexpected ways. Two button-ups are layered together, a simple jeans-and-tee look gets a heavy dose of jewelry and watches, and a sheer shirt takes the place of a traditional blazer.
The styling process came back to one question: “What touch of contrast could we add to this look, without it looking too overdone?” The answer, for the most part, was to keep things easy and uncomplicated.
Here, take a closer look at what Donny wore for our August 2026 cover editorial.

The cover layout
On the cover, Donny wears a full look from Louis Vuitton. The relaxed, lounge-ready mood comes through in the loose-cut garments, with two button-ups layered over each other—a muted pink stripe beneath a powder blue one—paired with khaki technical trousers.
To finish the ensemble, he wears an understated set of rings and a necklace from Bvlgari’s B.zero1 collection, the Roman jeweler’s unisex line defined by its clean, cylindrical silhouettes.

Look 1
Donny sports a casual jeans-and-tee outfit from Calvin Klein, pairing a form-fitting powder blue shirt with distressed straight-cut jeans.
The simplicity of the outfit leaves plenty of room for the generous accessorizing across his wrists. On his left wrist, he wears a stack of Serpenti Viper bracelets in a mix of white and yellow gold. His right arm gets an even bigger treatment with two Octo Finissimo watches paired together, one in steel and the other in titanium.
Fun fact: Donny took home these exact jeans from our shoot!

Look 2
For the second look, Donny wears a full ensemble from Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection, Generation Gucci. Seen as Look 8 on the lookbook, the collection reflects creative director Demna Gvasalia’s idea of a living archive, revisiting signature codes from the brand’s ’70s and ’90s eras through a spirit of “gritty glamour.”
On Donny, the look brings some of those references into focus: razor-sharp shoulders on the jacket, frame-skimming cuts, and jeans intentionally cut long.

Look 3
Consider this a case for reinterpreted suiting.
Instead of a conventional blazer, a sheer blue shirt by Filipino designer Nicolo Perez becomes the outer layer, worn over a white dress shirt from Polo Ralph Lauren and a vibrant red tie.
The ensemble is finished with blue-and-white floral-printed jeans, also by Nicolo Perez, and a sleek pair of loafers.
