Set in the hustle-bustle of busy Hong Kong, luxury label Dolce & Gabbana marked a twin set of firsts—its first runway outside of Italy (its home country), and its first ever co-ed catwalk!
To further the reach of Alta Moda, the brand's couture collection–meets–social club founded in 2012, a spectacular show was held in the dramatic lobby of the Peninsula, featuring 58 women’s looks and 47 men’s in an all-Chinese slew of models.

The clothes, decked in elaborate arrangements of peacock feathers, embellished cherry blossoms, and an abundance of gold filigree, are signature D&G maximalism. Said Gabbana in an interview with Vogue.com, “A lot of the clients here today haven’t seen a show in Italy before, so some of the looks are classic Alta Moda: the brocade flowers, the lace, all this. We aren’t trying to change what we are doing, just where we do it.”

Hopefully this isn't the first and last time D&G covers the lengthy distance between Milan and Asia! We don't know about you, but we're looking forward to many more jewel-encrusted forays into Eastern shores.
