In the midst of all the glitz and glamour of fashion week, Italian denim brand Diesel opened a pop-up store unlike any other. Set in New York City's famed fake-fashion destination, the Canal Street setup featured a knockoff store that sold one-of-a-kind creations.

To further push the counterfeit experience, the logo was disguised as DEISEL, and the store was stocked with original collector's items parading as fake merchandise. (Confused yet?)
Appealing to the customer that thrives on exclusivity, the brand revealed via Instagram that the knockoff store did, in fact, sell real merchandise and the stocks sold out after a mere two days.
What we really want to know is, if a real brand sells fake merchandise, just how "real" is it?
