Boring t-shirts, stand aside. There's a new kid on the block. Actually, he's not a kid, he's a man. Meet SIR, the brainchild of model and music blogger-turned-entrepreneur Marc Gueco, a Filipino repatriate who grew up in Michigan. He's now back in Manila to establish SIR, a spunky new line of graphic tees that give back quality and cool attitude to fast fashion tees.
Who: Marc Gueco
What: The man behind the SIR clothing line.
Background: Fashion merchandising in Oakland College, Michigan and fashion modeling at JRP USA.
Clothing people since: July 2012.
Philosophy: SIR is a brand that treats you with respect. Lots of research and love are put in [every piece] to make sure a salute to SIR is elicited when you wear our clothes.
Inspired by: Everything. From avant-garde designers to new trends in technology and human experience. I love rock 'n roll, everyday style, looks, and glamour seen on the runway, in magazines, and in film and television.
SIR got its name from: My real name, "Sir" Marc Gueco. My best friend Tim Yap encouraged me [to use this name] as well. There's absolute truth in advertising—it makes you want to salute every time you hear the word "SIR!"
SIR is for: Everyone who's fashionable.
We started designing these shirts because: [When] I lived in LA, all I wore were shirts with different graphics. I love wearing shirts with graphics to plain V-necks! It is also fairly flexible—goes well with a casual jacket to a formal tux.
We like skulls because: I started to envision the skulls [even] before Ed Hardy (Christian Audigier). I had his collections back then.
We print them on: Cotton and rayon.
Expect from us: Tank tops, denim jeans, shorts and accessories for men and women.
