70 Thousand Swarovski Crystals Were Used For Heart Evangelista's Wedding Gown Dubai-based designer Ezra Santos dishes out the details of Heart's nuptial frock.

Yesterday, February 15, 2015, Heart Evangelista married the love of her life, Senator Francis Escudero. We’ve given you all the juicy details about the Balesin Wedding, but now we want to zoom in on the area that interests us the most, her bridal dresses! While we wait for her Monique Lhuillier Manila Reception frock, let’s first take a closer look at the Ezra Couture showstopper that Heart wore when she said I Do.

We got the deets straight from the Dubai-based designer via email. Scroll down to learn more about the dress.

When and where did Heart meet with you first?

"I flew from Dubai to Manila to personally meet Heart and her stylist, Katrina Cruz last September 2014."

Is it true that the inspiration was the wedding gown of the Princess of Monaco?

"Yes, it is a modern take of my much loved wedding dress of Princess Grace of Monaco."

What were the materials used and roughly how many Swarovski crystals did it take to create the elegant gown?

"The materials used are French lace for the lining and tulle fabric on top, added with a Baroque lace embroidered with French sequins, and roughly more than 70,000 of different varieties and sizes of Swarovski elements.  It has a detachable train in full dentelle de Calais (a type of lace from Calais, France - ed.) also embellished with Swarovski crystals."

How long did it take to finish her gown?

"From cutting to embroidery process, it took us almost six months to create this very intricate piece."

Heart's detachable train was 5 meters long. (@caliberking)

How was Heart as a client? Did she immediately know how she wanted her gown to look like?

"She’s a great client. I appreciate the fact that she trusted me and gave me the freedom to explore on her dream wedding dress. I thank God that I made her happy and I feel blessed at the same time that I was able to put one of her dreams into reality."

How did you update the silhouette, inspired as it was by Grace Kelly's own nuptial frock?

"The wedding gown is very special…. I can say that Heart’s wedding dress is an intermingling of two dresses, a fitted dress and a detachable train. It’s a high neck transparent bodice dress and it fits her perfectly."
