Known for urban street wear with a class of punk, Kaye Morales is considered as one of School of Fashion and the Arts' best and brightest. After the success of her prêt-a-porter line, Schizo, the young designer continues to soar as she recently just made her international debut at Vancouver Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2014 Show held last month.
Staying true to her signature avant-garde aesthetic, Kaye presented a dark and grotesque collection dubbed as Debauchery, a reflection on her internal pain and suffering caused by excessive desires and longings, as interpreted through intentionally distorted violent shapes and forms.
“Each and every piece is an expression of suffering and violence, using the fabric and stitches as the medium to manifest my love for such pained states and emotions. This is my love letter to darkness,” she shares.
From thorns to studs, the designer also played with different materials and textures to achieve a cohesive collection made for the strong-willed and artsy fashionista.
