From the beginning of her interior and event design career, Cyndi Fernandez has been surrounded by fashion. One of her first projects involved fashion events director Robby Carmona and designers Lesley Mobo and Mich Dulce. Her portfolio has since been packed with big industry names, such as Hermès, Bulgari, and MAC, for which she has designed and executed events through her multidisciplinary design firm, Moss Manila. She has also done lounges for Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Zac Efron.
“My personal style has always been refined and sophisticated with a good hint of boldness. I think this mirrors well in the aesthetics of Moss Manila,” Cyndi shares. “We have developed a signature style of class and elegance, but it’s never boring, no matter what theme is thrown at us.” With any undertaking, whether it’s for interiors or events, she and her team work toward a harmonious balance of Moss Manila’s design flair and the client’s demands. “One of the biggest challenges is to put Moss Manila’s signature style yet make sure that it stays true to the brand identity,” she says. “Since our projects are usually so diverse and not based on any single style, I make sure that the personality of the client or the brand shines through.”
Cyndi and her sister, Happy Fernandez-Victorino, opened Moss Manila Home, an enclave of home furnishings with a distinct mix of modern oriental and art deco elements. If your residence isn’t done by Cyndi already, she’s giving you the chance to have a bit of her in your home.
