Culte Femme's new look!
Cult Status Culte Femme's new look!

The social and fashion cliques come to Rustan's to make an afternoon of it. They shop for the most lust-worthy clothes and accessories, have a coffee, or indulge in delectable dishes all in one place. And with the recent opening of the Culte Femme boutique at the second floor of Rustan's Makati, the style-conscious can look forward to an afternoon of shopping that's definitely worth spending (pun intended).

Culte Femme is the brainchild of fashion designer Hindy Tantoco as a fashion-forward private label for the ladies' department of Rustan's. The brand has a strong sense of style that's feminine, with a lot of whimsy and color. Her clothes run the gamut of the style spectrum—one-part boho, one-part preppy, one-part glam.

With her recently launched Holiday Collection 2008, Hindy opened her new boutique with laid-back decor, reflective of her free Bohemian spirit. The overall aesthetic is glam yet still homey. It's infused with Parisian apartment style elements like the molded ceiling, striped curtain, parquet flooring, baroque mirror and vintage light fixtures.

Her latest collection is a mixture of colors, texture and cuts—from earth tones and muted colors to hues like twilight blue, sunset orange, dove gray and bronze played up with floral accents and wooden appliqués and structured in cocoon, bud, and bulb-shaped silhouettes. Culte Femme's key looks for the season are brass studs and zippers on still-feminine silhouettes and a selection called “La vie en fleur” inspired by the life stages of the flower.

For meticulous shoppers, Culte Femme seems to be an idyllic haven with its classy and tasteful clothes and earthy and serene boutique. It is also a resource for the chic style-philes who appreciate eclectic looks that help them express their individuality. No fashion victims or clones in this 'hood!
