It seemed Criselda Lontok had a holiday in mind when she designed her 70 plus pieces for her most recent collection. Was it a luxury cruise to some fabulous tropical destination that got her churning out languid pieces for day and ultra-dressy pieces for the evenings?
The show opened with a set of jersey tunics and dresses printed a single burst of floral color that gave it a youthful vibe despite the black base color. The easy designs are perfect for the jet set who've learned that living in leggings for the majority of any vacation is a great idea. Kaftans in wild florals and another set of leisure suits in op-art or abstract patterns made it clear that she was rebelling against the seasons love for the darker side of the color spectrum. A series of wispy chiffon blousons in jewel tones seemed a great option for women of the figure-conscious variety who still want to look feminine and sexy without having to bare too much.
The evening wear that capped off the event naturally showed a series of her signature suits but also presented interesting work with fringe in a wonderfully indulgent length. She held the drama in by sticking to a sharp palette of black and red.
