When we talk about the beauty of fashion, we're mainly talking about audacity and effervescence, the drive to fight for what you want to wear, a vested interest in experimentation, and an unstoppable need to just have some fun. That said, openness to color is a great jump-off point for all of this. Color is exciting, expressive, and important. We love our blacks and whites, but we also need the adrenaline that only a neon green sharp-shouldered blazer can provide.

So, enough about neturals– let's dwell a bit on color and how to work with it. We've rounded up eight flattering color combinations to try that are not black + white or beige + brown. Ready? Take a look:
1. Hot Pink + Black
Need we say more? Life's too short to not be that person hitting the streets in hot pink.

2. Yellow + Purple
Banana, daffodil, lemon, lilac, lavender, amethyst—any variation of yellow and purple will totally work. If you recall, these two hues are polar opposites on the color wheel chart, so it makes sense that they'll always make a flattering pair.

Meanwhile, Laureen Uy wears two shades of purple—her inner's a pale lavender, while her parachute pants are brighter lilac. Just like Camille, she's wearing a lightweight yellow button-down.

3. Dusty blue + Off-White
This pairing is best for dainty, casual outfits. It doesn't take much willpower to attempt this color combo since it's a pretty mild, but it's still definitely worth mentioning. We guarantee you—it's foolproof.

4. Apple green + lavender
We've been seeing this color combo a lot, and it's not hard to see why– green and purple make a striking, chic pairing! If you're planning to rock this combo (and want to avoid channeling Barney or an eggplant), make sure to pick a demure, powdery shade of purple.

5. Neon green + Black
A good rule of thumb: Black will look good with neon, period. Georgina Wilson's bell-sleeved jacket looks so chic with that LBD. We're especially in love with the fact that the jacket and the dress are the same length!

6. Caramel + Red
Bloody red is a pretty difficult color to style, so your best bet is to just take the monochromatic route. A warm red orange, on the other hand, is so much easier to pair. Here, Bea Soriano-Dee styles her red sweatshirt with caramel leatherette pants.

8. Red + Beige + Tan
It's no secret that beige goes with virtually anything. That said, you can use it as a foundational hue that'll keep your outfit looking cohesive if you're planning to experiment with various colors, including red.

Liz Uy also wears a plaid button-down, but hers takes on a more experimental shape and colorway. Streaks of green, blue, and orange make it into the mix, but the true standout is her choice of sunglasses. We're totally obsessed with this look!
