What did you think of Oxygen’s clothes?
G: …both of our styles, what we would want to wear.
L: And it’s really versatile.
G: Also mixing [it] with our own stuff—this is Chanel (points to Leigh’s jacket), this is Comme de Garcons (looks to his shoes)—it’s like our own style matches really well with the brand. We’re happy to do it.
What made you decide to come here, to the Philippines?
G: For a few reasons. We love coming to Asia. We come here a lot. We go to Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, China; we’ve been all over Asia and I think there’s a huge obviously draw to go to a country we’ve never been to before.
L: We’ve never been here before.
G: Even just today, meeting all the people here that we’ve never met before was really exciting. You know working with new designers definitely is exciting for us. Right before this, about a month ago, we were in Buenos Aires and we were in Aspen doing their fashion weeks. It’s nice to go outside of what we’re used to of New York, Paris, London, Milan because you get to see a whole other side of it. Like here for example, and somewhere where it’s not one of the major cities for fashion week, you see how so many people are excited about fashion week—dressing up, really, really excited about coming out
L: Because for the major fashion weeks it’s like a job for a lot of people.
G: It’s not people going out, having fun. I mean it’s fun but it’s not young people sort of really participating. It’s work in New York and Paris. So it’s nice to come somewhere else and see sort of a budding fashion scene.
Isha: That’s a nice thing to say!
It really is though, I mean that 100%. And meeting the people, you guys, anyone here, it’s fun. We’ll probably meet more people later tonight [at the after party].
