You know why #itsmorefuninthephilippines? Because while the rest of the fashion world—or the Northern Hemisphere, at least—is still shielding itself from the nippy remnants of winter, we in the tropics can luxuriate in skimpy clothing practically all year long. And not just in our sunny cities, mind you, but particularly on our beautiful shores and the turquoise beaches strewn all over our archipelago.
Nivea Sun and the Department of Tourism (DOT) are quick to take advantage of this, so they've tapped swimwear designer Charina Sarte to help promote their summer campaign, which, for DOT, famously includes the Twitter hashtag "#itsmorefuninthephilippines." Nivea, meanwhile, is keen on promoting healthy skin year-round, especially now that the start of summer is almost upon us. "When we sat down and discussed the details of the project, I didn't hesitate to say yes because I knew I would be working with a brand I believe in, aside from the fact that it would be great exposure for me," Charina says.
Charina created a swimwear collection inspired by the tropics and the colors of Nivea Sun. "We casted really fit models with glowing skin because Nivea Sun is all about enjoying the sun while taking care of your skin so the swimwear was very revealing and sexy." A selection of teensy bikinis, one-piece swimsuits with provocative cutouts, and asymmetrical maillots are up for grabs now in the designer's Greenbelt 5 boutique.
