Prepare to Fall in Love With the New Carolina Herrera Boutique

Prepare to Fall in Love With the New Carolina Herrera Boutique Discover our pretty picks from the newly opened shop.

We took a tour of the newly opened CH Carolina Herrera boutique in Greenbelt 5, and suffice it to say that being up close and personal with the designer’s creations stirred feelings of romance and femininity. “CH Carolina Herrera is a lifestyle brand inspired by the New York lifestyle,” explained Joyce Placino, marketing manager, as she took us around the store. She added that pieces are not only designed to be worn from day to night, a convenience for the stylish urbanite, but accessories are also designed to complement the current collection. Case in point: You’ll find costume jewelry ready to pretty up a day time staple, as well as ballet flats and pumps in the same velvet dotted material as a blouse on the racks. The most important thing to note is that the elegant simplicity of the garments, amplified by their luxurious fabrics, make them classics that will remain stylish in the midst of passing trends.

“All the stores around the world are designed to feel like you’re visiting Carolina in her home. That’s why it’s referred to as the House of Herrera,” explained Joyce. Obee Ham, head of business development for Trimark Holdings, the company that brought in CH Carolina Herrera, added that all the fixtures and furnishings were flown in from Spain to make sure the Manila boutique gives you the same shopping experience as any other CH boutique in the world.

The expansive storefront seen from the Greenbelt 5 garden ushers you into a women’s salon where you’ll first be greeted by the brand’s DNA hues of black, white and red. Red is the color of passion and femininity for Carolina, which is why it figures regularly in her collections.

A collection of bags including best-sellers like the Insignia, Bimba and Matryoshka are displayed along a short hallway that ends with a glass case that’s filled with lovely costume jewelry.

It’s easy to wear the pieces in store. The clothing is created to make you feel feminine and beautiful, and the designs are so timeless that you could keep and wear them forever (as long as you stay the same size and care for them well). Here are some favorites we picked out from the racks and shelves.

1. CH Carolina Herrera is all about day-to-night dressing. These pleated palazzos command attention at the work place paired with a quintessential white shirt, and are dreamy for an evening out worn with an asymmetric blouse.

2. The handle on the Insignia bag is a play on the letters CH. The crossbody bag is extra playful in classic polka dots, and opens up like a jewelry box.

3. T-shirts at CH Carolina Herrera are far from basic, dressed up with lace flower appliqués, paillettes sewn in tight floral motifs and even a red lace toucan.

4. The costume jewelry is designed to complement the clothing, and pretty pieces like this jasmine-motif necklace are the perfect blanc statement.

5. You’ll feel the true luxury of the garments in the fabrics. Apart from the silks and taffetas, it was the cloque material of a balloon-skirted shift that romanced us. A similarly rich weave as jacquard, this had a remarkable crinkled texture that added dimension to the silhouette.

6. The comfort of the pajama silhouette is still so alluring, but at CH Carolina Herrera, the separates come in a beautiful Spanish lace, making for an elegant outfit. Wearing it here with beaded espadrilles made in the same lace material for complete coordination.

8. The knits give you the best of both worlds: comfort and a flattering silhouette.

9. Taking matching shoes to outfits to a whole new level, the seasonal shoes at CH are even made with the same materials. Here, a pump and a ballet flat can take your outfit from desktop to dinner with a mere change of heel height. Get it while they're still on the shelves!
