Gone are those days when dressing up was run by rules. We’ve officially made it to the new era of fashion, and it’s about time to stop caring. Since the new book says ‘no more rules,’ we figured we’ll go ahead and publicly announce our approval for this basic fashion code we all so love to violate: the double denim trend. And apparently, we’re not the only ones, because we’ve spotted these lovely ladies sporting the wrong trend in all the right ways.
Scroll down and check out the many different ways you can wear denim on denim.
Here’s Georgina Wilson’s preppy take on the denim-on-denim trend. Cop her look by wearing your chambray shirt buttoned all the way up and tucked in your jeans. Spice it up a notch with cat-eye sunglasses to score some extra points in the fierce department.
Keep things fun and interesting with a little layering. Like Julia Barretto, go beyond the regular denim pairing and put together a young, stylish vibe with a high-waist pencil skirt and light washed jacket worn over a basic cropped top.
Here’s another girly look you can try while sporting denim-on-denim. This time though, let’s make it a tad bit sweeter courtesy of Marian Rivera. As you know, there’s nothing more feminine than a girl donning a skirt and a pair of killer heels.
Planning to go out for a picnic? Kim Jones’ take is stylish yet relaxed. High-waist shorts, sleeveless shirt, and a pair of sneakers will keep you comfortable for whatever activities you’ve lined up for the day.
To be on track with what’s cool on the streets, you can opt for fun new twists. Reinvent the street style look of dance princess Maja Salvador and go for chambray joggers instead of the usual denim jeans. And if you’re not a fan of tie-front shirts, a denim cropped top is always a cute alternative.
